The Natural Skin Treatment Difference
Our medicinal quality natural skin treatments are different from other skin care ranges, including ranges claiming to be ‘natural’ or ‘organic’.
We use only the highest quality, medicinal-grade extracts that contain essential vital nutrients and active constituents.
Skin care users worldwide have been discovering the Simplicité difference for the last 20 years.
The key to our natural skin treatments is quality, concentration, quantity and combinations. Each of our natural skin treatments is a bottle of nature’s best nutrients for your skin.
Simplicité is different from other skin care ranges - including the 'natural' and 'organic' variations.
We believe in creating products that care for the health of the skin, helping it to look radiant, fresher, and more youthful. We don't use alcohol, silicones, 'fruit acids', mineral oil and lanolin. We also won't use sorbitol, castor oil or any animal products. We also won't use lesser quality aromatherapy extracts or second-rate plant extracts as these contain unacceptably high levels of impurities...and they don't work.
Use Simplicité's active, concentrated products for just a few weeks and the skin begins to look and feel younger. This is not simply a cosmetic change; the epidermis shows a greater degree of vitality and tone.
This 'real' change can only be achieved through nutrients and active herbal extracts. The 'smoke and mirrors' approach of 'fruit acids', silicones and 'plumping agents' has nothing to do with visible long term change.
The noticeable, cumulative results occur because Simplicité's carefully formulated products are, in fact, effective herbal remedies for the skin.
David is a naturopath and herbalist with many years clinical experience in formulating remedies for the skin where all else seemed to fail.
His first step in making his skin care remedies was quite simple really - he used the same quality 'medicinal' herbs that he used for internal remedies.
The difference and the results were extraordinary. Even to those who thought they'd seen and heard it all!
The quality and concentration of Simplicite's extracts is a world away from usual 'beauty' products, including every 'natural' or 'organic' range.

To use Simplicité's active, concentrated products for just a few weeks is to see the skin begin to look and feel younger. Not only this - it will also be healthier, look smoother and have a firmer feel.
That's the Simplicité difference!
Simplicité SPECIFIC Differences:
1. Quality
2. Concentration
3. Quantity
4. Combinations
1. Simplicité Skin Care products achieve outstanding results for skin because of the superior 'medicinal' quality of ingredients used.
Simplicité formulator David Lyons sources the highest grades available of plants, flowers, herbs and aromatherapy essences from Australia and around the world.
(If other skin care products don't mention the quality of ingredients used - these will NOT be 'medicinal quality', instead will be a commercial i.e. low grade quality - sourced in highly processed form from China or India.
ABOUT PLANT EXTRACTS FROM CHINA AND INDIA
Plants grown in questionable conditions in these countries are manufactured into either a powdered or a thick, black, viscous material which bears no resemblance to the original plant extract. The black liquid is preserved in propylene glycol (causes skin flakiness) which does not have to be declared on the label of the product in which it is subsequently used. These 'extracts' are then shipped on long sea voyages in 44 gallon/200 litre containers. They lack freshness and vitality. Think of orange juice powdered concentrate compared to the freshly squeezed juice of an in-season, ripe orange.
2. A respected naturopath and herbalist since the mid-1980s, Lyons hand-makes i.e. decocts his own concentrated extracts from these high quality ingredients.
(If other skin care products don't mention that their ingredients used are hand-made and concentrated - these will NOT be hand-made and concentrated, instead will be sourced in highly processed form from China or India - see explanation above.)
3. David Lyons' formulations for each of 45 Simplicité products contain large quantities of these decocted extracts and aromatherapy essences, also of Australian Bush Flower essences.
(If other skin care products don't mention that large quantities of extracts and essences are used - they will NOT be using large quantities, instead, the quantities used will be 'a drop in a bucket' of the China/India plant extracts.)
4. Each Simplicité product contains synergistic combinations (groupings of extracts with similar properties) of between eight to 18 of the concentrated, high quality extracts and essences. The combined result of the combinations of extracts is far great than that achievable with one or a few ingredients.
(Some other skin care products show a large number of plant extracts in their ingredient lists - however if points 1, 2 and 3 above are not mentioned - these extracts can be of no help to skin i.e. ineffective.)
5. No fragrance (synthetic or 'natural') is added to Simplicité products.
Each Simplicité product has its own special, delicate fragrance. Nothing is added specifically to achieve this - it happens as a matter of course, simply because the freshly made plant extracts are medicinal quality, concentrated and used in large quantities.
Why avoid products with added 'fragrance'?
Because all added 'fragrance' or 'parfum is synthetic perfume which contributes to drying and irritating skin. When you see 'fragrance' on product ingredient lists you will know that the manufacturer must not prioritise skin improvement if they include this sort of ingredient.
Why avoid products with added 'natural fragrances'?
The 'natural fragrances' seen at the end of product ingredient lists (i.e. citronellol, geraniol, linalool, limonene, citral, farnesol, eugenol etc) are processed 'bits' of plants added to give the product some sort of 'smell' - because the 'real' plant extracts in the product aren't 'strong' enough to be smelled.
If the extracts are too weak to be smelled how can they be effective enough give any sort of positive change to skin?
These 'bits' of plants which are the added 'natural fragrances' are grown and processed in China or India (see explanation above.)
Taking out just a small part of a plant in this way to use for fragrance purposes - instead of using the whole plant - can be also be compared with making an orange cake, but instead of using the whole fresh orange, using a pinch of powdered orange juice concentrate.
6. Simplicité has no separate 'sensitive' section.
There's no need to have a separate 'sensitive' section because ALL Simplicité products are made with medicinal-grade extracts and so ALL are suitable for sensitive skin. This is very unusual in the skin care industry. Yet again, this is because only only the highest quality, freshly decocted extracts and practitioner-grade aromatherapy extracts are used.
7. A unique preserving system.
Uniquely, natural vitamin E and aromatherapy essences preserve Simplicité cremes and lotions.
(There is no need to preserve Simplicité serums, face oils and body oils because these are 100% concentrated plant and aromatherapy extracts.)
Simplicité cremes and lotions need to be preserved and stabilised for shelf life because as well as plant, herb, flower and aromatherapy extracts they contain the highest grade available (of approx 7 grades) certified sustainable coconut flesh and palm oil.
At the very end of the ingredient list - 0.02% (equal to a 'drop' in a mL) is added of a synthetic preservative.
Simplicité formulator, naturopath and herbalist David Lyons, has then chosen to add 0.02% (the equivalent of one 'drop' from a standard dropper to a mL) of a synthetic preservative to ensure product shelf life. This preservative, from plant cellulose and nitrogen in the air, has not caused any skin sensitivity problem ever - over more than two decades of making the Simplicite range.
8. Unique low temperature extraction method.
David Lyons uses his own low-temperature extraction method, unique to Simplicité, of preparing herbal decoctions for product bases. This method preserves nutrients and active principles. The resulting rich extracts - freshly made each time - are used in the manufacture of each new batch of Simplicité products.
Some locations from where Simplicité ingredients are sourced.
The She Oak extract for Simplicité hair conditioner and the Bush Iris flower for Simplicité eye products come from David and Robin Lyons' rural property in the Lockyer Valley, in south-east Queensland.
20kg of organically grown cucumbers is macerated for Simplicité Firming Rehydration Eye Creme The beetroot used in Simplicité Waratah & Beetroot Mask originates from David Lyons' great-aunt's farm, also in the Lockyer Valley.
